U-tapao airport expansion takes a major step foward

As Infrastructure is developing, the value of property in the surrounding area is going to grow.

The U-Tapao International Airport and Eastern Aviation City project has reached an important milestone. After years of planning and delays, the project has officially received the Notice to Proceed (NTP), allowing it to enter its construction phase.

As one of the key projects under Thailand's Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), the development goes far beyond expanding the airport. It includes a new passenger terminal, commercial and business facilities, logistics infrastructure, and the creation of the Eastern Aviation City. Phase 1 is expected to accommodate 12 million passengers annually, with long-term plans to expand capacity to 60 million passengers per year.

Infrastructure plays a vital role in shaping long-term economic growth. As connectivity improves, Eastern Thailand is expected to become even more accessible for international visitors, business travel, and investment. For Pattaya and Na Jomtien, this continued development supports the region's long-term outlook and strengthens demand for hospitality, tourism, and professionally managed real estate.

While projects of this scale take years to complete, the issuance of the Notice to Proceed marks an important step forward and reflects the government's continued commitment to developing the Eastern Economic Corridor.
